We just had the most wonderful time with the most adorable, lovable nephews on the planet for Easter weekend. I am so biased, and so ok with that. Flying kites + making pies + dying eggs + trying to wear out a two-year-old= lots and lots of fun. We were even offered to take the kids home with us! For FREE!!! Nice try guys. ;) I am sure we will be back soon to cause more trouble like a good Aunt and Uncle should.

Friends. Puppy. Adventure
Our dear friends Nick and Sarah came to spend the weekend with us in the exciting, thriving metropolis of Mountain Home, Idaho. (Cough, cough...not). Mountain Home is a little bit less than exciting but I like to think that its who you are with that makes it great. And we sure did have a great time! We took little Jackson (who is really not little at all) on an adventure.
And of course, there were guns involved. Who goes on an adventure in Idaho without shooting something?
See the clay pigeon....
See it in pieces. Nice shot, babe! ;)
We had a great time making food, being outside, and playing games. It was all my favorite things all in one weekend! Ok, may not all my favorite things but some of them. Lots of them. The top of the list. Ok, you get the point.
Happy Wednesday from MountainMan and his woman!

"You and me go finshin' in the dark..."
A few nights ago MountainMan and I took Jackson fishing. Well...we fished and Jackson tried to learn how to swim. Since we are on the topic of fish, I guess you could say he was a "fish out of water"... (wink, wink). Get it? He wasn't scared of the water but lets just say he may need a few more swim lessons. But isn't he just adorable... ?!?!
We had a wonderful time slowly getting the furry one ready fun hunting season. That's his lot in life. Kill ducks. I mean fetch the dead ducks. Its basically the same thing, right?

This is what we like to call FunFamilyFishin'. :)

I Adore You More
Valentines Day. Such a sappy day. A bunch of commercialized crap. Ok, I'm done being cynical. While I do think Valentines Day is quite commercialized I don't mind having a day dedicated to loving the one you love. And I sure do love, MountainMan.
We are not the super romanic type to begin with so this Valentines Day we are spending it with dear friends. Homemade pizza...yes, I used Pioneer Woman's recipe...why would I not?...and games and gun shows and who knows what else. I'd say it fits us just perfectly.

Love these kids...
I got to spend last weekend with two of my favorite kids in the whole entire world. Seriously. I started babysitting them when I was only 13 and couldn't even drive to their house. Now they are creeping up on that age and I don't want to talk about it. MountainMan came down and hung out with us for a few days, too. So really it was just 4 kids causin' trouble. ;)

Cinnamon rolls don't have calories
Mmmmm....breakfast. Waking up is not my favorite thing in the world but breakfast is definitely one of my favorite things in the world. I would rather MountainMan take me out for breakfast than for dinner. Adding to my love for breakfast I have channeled the Pioneer Woman and made her cinfully delicious cinnamon rolls...twice. (Good thing MountainMan and I got a gym membership, right?) My mouth is watering just thinking about them....
This is actually the makings of the orange roll, but you get the gist...
Now the cinnamon rolls....
See what I mean....
This is just one of many of her recipes MountainMan and I have tried and we have yet to be disappointed. Have I mentioned that I want to be just like her when I grow up? I do.

Early morning duck hunt....I don't remember agreeing to this in my vows...
Oh, the things you do for the one you love. MountainMan and I happily...I mean MountainMan happily got up at 5:00am to go duck hunting. I agreed because there was coffee involved and I got to bring my new camera.
It was early, but man was that sunrise beautiful.
I by no means claim to be a morning person but there sure is something wonderful about spending time in the peaceful morning watching the beauty of God unfold before your eyes.
It may not be my first choice to get up a such an absurd hour as 5:00am but I have learned the value of spending shoulder-to-shoulder time with MountainMan. This is something valuable I learned about in the book Love & Respect. I walk beside my husband, of course, with coffee in hand.
Wack that duck, baby!
